President inspected the reconstruction of the airport in Kryvyi Rih

During a working trip to the Dnipropetrovsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy got himself acquainted with the reconstruction of the Kryvyi Rih International Airport.

The restoration of the airport built in 1978 is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022. The total cost of the project is UAH 990 million.

As Head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration Valentyn Reznichenko told the President, the reconstruction of the runway with the replacement of engineering and lighting equipment, as well as the repair of platforms is planned. New navigation and meteorological equipment will be installed.

At the same time, the airport terminal building will be reconstructed. Its cost is UAH 300 million. Upon completion, the airport will be able to serve 400 passengers per hour.

New equipment for regular flights handling has already been installed in the airport. This will allow it to accept A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.

"We need to implement these plans and renovate the airport," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko noted that both the terminal and the runway are planned to be commissioned by October 2022.

Mayor of Kryvyi Rih Kostiantyn Pavlov added that the airport, which is on the city's balance sheet, is already connected to the city by public transport routes.
