During a working trip to the Donetsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the opening after the reconstruction of the regional diagnostic center with a consultative polyclinic in Slovyansk.
During the conversation with the staff of the diagnostic center, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the availability of highly qualified doctors and modern equipment is a guarantee of providing high-quality medical care.
The President also got himself acquainted with a plan to build a regional multidisciplinary hospital in Kramatorsk. It is to become the flagship medical project on building five medical cities across the country.
Such a medical institution in Kramatorsk will be able to provide high-quality highly specialized medical care to more than 2.5 million residents of the Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions.
The cost of the first stage of construction is UAH 5.9 billion, the total cost is UAH 8 billion. Construction is planned to begin in the first quarter of 2021 in case of the availability of the appropriate funding.
The Head of State assured that funding would be provided.
"We have a task - to create five medical cities in Ukraine. We will create them," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
At the same time, the President emphasized the need to find extra-budgetary ways to finance the construction of the entire medical city simultaneously, rather than gradually, over several years.
