Head of State: I am ready to meet with Vladimir Putin in both vis-a-vis and Normandy format

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy would like to meet with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in both vis-a-vis and Normandy format, as such talks will be substantive and effective for a peaceful settlement in Donbas and the deoccupation of Crimea. The Head of State said this during a press conference in Truskavets.

"I would like to meet with the President of the Russian Federation. It is clear to me that in a vis-a-vis format the meeting will be quite substantive. It is clear to me that the Russian side, the entourage of the President of Russia, does not want him to hold this meeting in a vis-a-vis format, as this meeting may bring unexpected results," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President of Ukraine stressed that he was ready to meet with Vladimir Putin in the Normandy format as well.

"I believe that any meeting at this level will help Ukraine in resolving the tragedy in Donbas and in the issues of Crimea," the President said.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that during the vis-a-vis meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, one should not focus on a specific agenda.

"In any case, I believe that there will be a result. Must be. Because Russia and the Russian people also need it," the Head of State stressed.

The President of Ukraine added that the Russian side is currently holding back from such meetings.
