In Reykjavik, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the Victory Plan. The President emphasized the importance of inviting Ukraine to NATO and allowing it to use long-range weaponry against Russian military targets. The parties also discussed the details of Ukraine’s position on the NATO issue.
“We are grateful to Sweden for understanding our need to ensure long-term security for Ukraine. We really count on progress in bolstering Ukraine’s air shield,” said the President.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ulf Kristersson also talked about how to maintain and strengthen European unity in the face of both short-term and long-term challenges.
A special focus of the talks was on financing the production of long-range missiles and drones in Ukraine, as well as supporting the energy grid through the winter.
The President emphasized that Sweden is one of Ukraine's most important donors of energy assistance and thanked Sweden for all its defense support packages.
