The European Union should pay greater attention to the Eastern Partnership countries in the procurement and supply of COVID-19 vaccine. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a meeting with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu in Kyiv.
"As today it is crucial for all Eastern Partnership countries, including Ukraine and Moldova, to obtain vaccines, we discussed this issue in detail with Ms. Sandu. I believe that the European Union countries should pay greater attention to the Eastern Partnership countries in the issues of joint procedures for the purchase and accelerated supply of vaccines," the President of Ukraine said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that a separate part of the negotiations with Maia Sandu was devoted to the strategic issue of integration of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova into the European Union.
Maia Sandu noted that Ukraine and Moldova had spoken in favor of strengthening the Eastern Partnership dialogue, in particular in the framework of the Summit of this initiative taking place this year.
