The current government cares about the education and quality of training of future professionals in Ukraine. That is why the idea of creating a Presidential University as an example of a university, which will provide decent conditions for study and work, emerged. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the "Right to Power" program on 1+1 TV channel.
"The country pays attention to education," the President stressed, but noted that it is impossible to immediately build or modernize a large number of educational institutions.
In particular, according to him, the closure of some universities to improve the quality of education in other educational institutions would leave a large number of people unemployed. Therefore, in the President's opinion, changes should be implemented gradually.
Among other things, as noted by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the creation of the Presidential University was initiated, where highly professional specialists will be trained. This educational institution will demonstrate what a quality university should look like - with high salaries of lecturers, good material, technical and financial support of students, so that they do not have to combine education with work.
"He or she cannot work in parallel - you have to study, you have to be a scientist, you have to be an experimenter, you have to be a smart person and devote your life to it," the President said.
"It (Presidential University - ed.) will not be completely subordinated to the Ministry of Education. This is an example. And if it works - I want to believe that - we will show that it is possible to do so with Ukrainian universities," the President summed up.
