Work is underway to prepare a major Asian tour of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The final list of countries that the President will visit is currently being formed, Deputy Head of the President's Office Ihor Zhovkva said in an interview for one of the online media outlets.
According to him, there is an intent to cover China, South Korea, Indonesia and more.
"Negotiations are underway through diplomatic channels, but as of now it is impossible to say the exact date of the visits for objective reasons - unfortunately, the Asian region, like all other regions of the world, periodically suffers from COVID-19," Ihor Zhovkva said.
He added that a number of agreements have already been prepared, as well as promising projects for trade development and attraction of investment in Ukraine.
The Deputy Head of the President's Office expressed his condolences to the family of Ambassador of Ukraine to China Serhii Kamyshev. According to him, the post of ambassador to China cannot remain vacant for a long time, so the search for a substitution is underway.
Work is also underway to prepare for Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the United States. Contact has already been established with the administration of the new President of the United States, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine had a phone conversation with the US Secretary of State recently.
"Work is underway not only on the vector of the Department of State, but also on the vector of the White House," Ihor Zhovkva said.
He noted that a phone conversation between the leaders of Ukraine and the United States is being prepared.
"Certainly, such a conversation will take place. I wouldn't dramatize, wouldn't count down the days, minutes and hours. It will take place, just as the mutual exchange of visits," the Deputy Head of the Office of the President emphasized.
Ihor Zhovkva stressed that it is a matter of political support, wider US involvement in negotiations on the peaceful settlement in Donbas and the deoccupation of Crimea, economic cooperation.
