The state needs education to train competitive professionals - President

The strategy for the development of education and science and the protection of veterans' rights was discussed at a meeting chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The meeting was attended by Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, Minister for Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine Yulia Laputina, Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights Halyna Tretyakova, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovations Serhiy Babak, Deputy Heads of the President's Office Yulia Sokolovska and Roman Mashovets, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Dniprov.

The meeting focused on the implementation of the New Ukrainian School project, which should ensure a successful future for every child. In particular, it is proposed to improve the quality of education, the social status of teachers by increasing wages, create an inclusive environment and continue the digitization of the educational process.

In addition, the issues of modernization of vocational and technical education were discussed. As part of the implementation of this project, it is planned to reconstruct existing and open new vocational education centers, increase the prestige of educators and students, as well as strengthen cooperation with employers.

"The state needs a new quality of management. We need to find a format for students to gain knowledge and experience so that Ukraine can prepare a layer of strong, competitive professionals, including strong management," Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

The development of social protection and adaptation of veterans was also discussed during the meeting. It is envisaged to create a Unified State Register of War Veterans, provide medical and psychological services to veterans and state support for their business.

In order to reduce corruption risks, a system of information services "e-Veteran" will be created, through which veterans will be able to receive the necessary administrative services.

The parties also discussed the provision of legal and educational services to veterans, promoting their professional adaptation. It is proposed to create a Ukrainian Veterans Fund, which will provide social protection for veterans, their families and families of the deceased.

In addition, the implementation of the State Targeted Social Program was discussed.
