In the framework of the working visit to the Poltava region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited PJSC Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works in Kremenchuk and informed that the enterprise would soon receive an order from the state-owned company JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.
During his visit to the plant, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, CEO of the enterprise Volodymyr Prykhodko informed the Head of State about the enterprise’s full cycle of production. Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the plant's design department, workshops for the production of spare parts, wheel pairs and various types of railcars. In the workshop where samples of finished products are placed, the President watched several passenger cars of different types manufactured by the enterprise.
The Head of State stressed that the plant is in good condition. At the same time, he drew attention to the problem of failure of the contract for the supply of passenger cars and diesel trains for Ukrzaliznytsia.
The President expressed conviction that the state should concentrate on agreements with the national producer. That is why yesterday he called in Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy to the Poltava region for the government official to suggest a solution to the problem that arose between the enterprise and Ukrzaliznytsia.
The Head of State believes the state-owned enterprise should order three diesel trains and 90 railcars from the Kryukiv plant.
“You provide products and jobs. We provide an order,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, addressing Volodymyr Prykhodko.
“I really liked the two-story car… We are interested as a state in showing that we have a domestic manufacturer. Make at least one sample of the railcar, and you can get a state order,” the Head of State added.
CEO of PJSC Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works Volodymyr Prykhodko assured of his willingness to cooperate and fulfill the order.
For his part, the Minister of Infrastructure said that the former management of Ukrzaliznytsia did not find a common language with its largest strategic partner, PJSC Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works, and the problems were solved not at the joint platform, but through courts and appeals to the Antimonopoly Committee.
“We need to cooperate not when there are problems, but in working mode. We have already prepared a letter on the absence of remarks on the products of Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works. All issues will be resolved,” Vladyslav Krykliy said.
In addition, the Minister expressed hope that due to the introduction of private train traction on the railway, the enterprise could receive orders from the private sector.
