During a working trip to Zakarpattia, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected the reconstruction of the M-24 Velyka Dobron’ - Mukachevo - Berehove - Luzhanka checkpoint road of state importance, which is being restored as part of the “Great Construction” National Program.

The Head of State inspected the section near the town of Chop, which will be completed in October. In total, 370 km of roads are being built in the Zakarpattia region this year, 223 km of them already have the upper layer, they are open for traffic.

According to Oleksandr Kubrakov, Head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor), the key object of the "Great Construction" in the region is the H-09 road, which runs from Lviv through Ivano-Frankivsk to Mukachevo. "Ambitious plan" is written on the map of Ukravtodor. I am glad to congratulate the locals on the fact that this ambitious plan is becoming our reality. 370 kilometers of state roads will be built this year. In 10 years, a total of 130-140 kilometers of roads were built in Zakarpattia. That is, in 10 months of this year, three times more will be built than in 10 years. I believe that this is a victory for us and for all the residents of Zakarpattia. Nobody is going to stop here," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He noted that in a few years it will be possible to restore all roads in the region.

As of this week, 2,022 km of roads have been completed in Ukraine. Zakarpattia is among the leaders with 223.5 km built. According to Ukravtodor's plan, 4,200 km of highways across the country will have been built by the end of the year.
