Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held a meeting with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Boris Ruge.
Ihor Zhovkva emphasized that Ukraine's strategic course toward full NATO membership remains unchanged. It is crucial to maintain unity and continue working together in this direction, particularly based on the decision of the Washington Summit on the irreversibility of Ukraine's path to the Alliance.
“Ukraine's NATO membership remains on the agenda of our relations. It is the most reliable and cost-effective security guarantee for Ukraine,” said the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.
The parties also positively assessed the implementation of other decisions of the Summit. Ihor Zhovkva stressed the importance of their full realization along with increased military assistance from NATO member states for Ukraine.
In addition, the meeting addressed the continuation of the work of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, which contributes significantly to strengthening the military capabilities of our country.
Apart from that, they discussed the current architecture of European security and strengthening its role in light of the current challenges.
