Most entrepreneurs will receive state aid due to the stiffening of quarantine before the end of the year - a conference call with the President

Almost 300,000 applications for state aid due to the future stiffening of quarantine measures will be fulfilled by the end of the week. This is more than 90% of all applications received last week through the "Diia" application. This was announced at a traditional conference call chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"The beginning of the year is always a holiday. We all know that government agencies are quite slow. We have 710,000 sole proprietors and businesses to receive payments. And this must be done by January 8. This is one of the priorities for the government," the Head of State stressed.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reminded that applications for the payment of one-time financial assistance to citizens and businesses are accepted until December 31.

The Prime Minister said that the payment of financial assistance to people whose activities will be limited as a result of the intensified quarantine from January 8 begins today.

"Funds for 280,000 applications have already been transferred to the Pension Fund. Today, according to the resolution, is the first day when we start payments," he said.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov informed that 40-50 thousand applications are received daily from sole proprietors and businesses. The government hopes that most entrepreneurs will have received financial support due to the upcoming lockdown scheduled for January 8-24, 2021 by the end of 2020.

Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko noted that payments will be made before the New Year as much as possible.
