Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, met with the Head of the Federal Chancellery and Federal Minister for Special Tasks of Germany, Wolfgang Schmidt. Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Ihor Zhovkva, also took part in the meeting.
Andriy Yermak expressed gratitude for Germany’s support in countering Russian aggression, particularly highlighting the Federal Republic of Germany’s leadership in Europe in providing military assistance.
The Head of the Presidential Office outlined the results of the meeting with the U.S. delegation in Jeddah. According to him, coordination efforts are ongoing to establish a 30-day ceasefire, agree on an effective mechanism to monitor its observance, and develop security guarantees.
Andriy Yermak emphasized that Ukraine’s "red lines" include the refusal to recognize Ukraine's territories occupied by Russia, reduction in the size of the army, and neutral status.
"Ukraine wants peace more than anyone. But we cannot accept peace at any cost. We will not agree to any compromises that are not supported by Ukrainian society. Ukrainians support the idea of an interim ceasefire but will not accept a frozen conflict without security guarantees," the Head of the Presidential Office noted.
He also expressed hope for continued support from Germany.
