Andriy Yermak Had a Phone Call with Japan’s National Security Advisor

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak had a phone call with Okano Masataka, Secretary General of Japan’s National Security Secretariat and National Security Advisor to the Cabinet, congratulating him on his appointment.

It was the first international telephone conversation Okano Masataka had after his appointment as National Security Advisor.

The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine expressed deep gratitude to the Japanese side for providing significant financial and humanitarian assistance since the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Andriy Yermak provided an update on the situation on the battlefield, as well as Ukraine’s defense and humanitarian needs.

Parties exchanged views on further ways to deepen cooperation in the transfer of defense equipment and technology.

The Head of the Presidential Office also expressed gratitude to Japan for its active support in implementing the Peace Formula and working toward a just peace for Ukraine. He also acknowledged the sanctions introduced this month against several Russian individuals and entities, as well as Japan’s export ban on various categories of goods to Russia.

The parties emphasized the importance of maintaining political dialogue at the level of leaders in the near future.

Andriy Yermak and Okano Masataka agreed to maintain close contact.
