Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak held a videoconference with national security advisers and diplomatic advisers to the heads of states and governments of Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland and Sweden. Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva also took part in the conversation.
Andriy Yermak praised the results of yesterday's special meeting of the European Council in Brussels, the determination to support Ukraine, and the readiness to develop a joint plan for achieving a just and lasting peace.
He reminded participants that Ukraine has proposed steps that could pave the way for an end to the war. They include silence in the sky and at sea: an end to attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure and naval military operations, as well as the release of prisoners.
The Head of the Presidential Office informed the participants about ongoing work with the French and British sides on the plan to achieve a just and lasting peace. Ukraine highly values the relevant proposals from the Nordic and Baltic states, which are taken into account in the course of its preparation.
“We are finalizing a preliminary plan, which we will discuss with our American partners next week in Saudi Arabia. I emphasize that this is not only Ukraine's plan; it is Europe's plan,” Andriy Yermak noted.
He emphasized the need to continue working on concrete and effective security guarantees for Ukraine before any negotiations on establishing a just and lasting peace.
