On the instructions of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak held a working meeting with representatives of state authorities on issues of child protection and safety, discussing the action plan, which will be presented at the meeting of the Coordination Council of Ukraine on issues of child protection and safety next week.
As noted by Andriy Yermak, the key goal of the plan is the return of children illegally deported by Russia from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
"We are facing an extremely important and difficult task - to return all our children, whom the occupiers stole from their families, to our people. We must protect their rights to a free and happy life. We must also protect all Ukrainian children in the occupied territories and in general throughout the territory of Ukraine. Russia must bear separate responsibility for the crimes committed against Ukrainian children. This is the first priority, which was determined by the President of Ukraine and which must be implemented as efficiently as possible," the Head of the Office of the President emphasized.
In the framework of the implementation of the plan, a number of highly effective measures with the involvement of the international community, in particular representatives of the governments of the partner states, specialized experts and institutions, the public sector, as well as well-known figures of culture and sports, are envisaged.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iuliia Sokolovska, Advisor to the President of Ukraine on Children's Rights and Child Rehabilitation Daria Herasymchuk, Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna, other members of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as advisors to the Head of the Office of the President.
