Andriy Yermak holds briefing for US senators on countering full-scale Russian invasion

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak held a briefing on the situation with the resistance to the full-scale invasion of Russia and the development of the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense forces.

United States Senators Jack Reed and Angus King, US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Bridget Brink, Deputy Heads of the Office of the President Roman Mashovets and Ihor Zhovkva, Board Chairman of PrJSC National Power Company Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky, representatives of the military command took part in the briefing.

Yermak thanked the US senators for their visit to Ukraine and emphasized the importance of conducting regular briefings for our strategic partners regarding the situation at the front.

"We in the Office of the President hold weekly briefings. It's extremely important for us that you, as our friends and partners, not only know what is happening on the battlefield, on the front line. It's important you must get updated information about our needs and our plans, future operations. And we will continue this work," the head of the Office of the President said.

Andriy Yermak noted the importance of getting information on the current situation directly from representatives of the military command and the Office of the President.

"It's extremely important that you, as senators and congressmen, know exactly what the current situation looks like, directly from our commanders, from the team of the Office of the President. After all, it helps in understanding the next steps. I am convinced that you have received full information," he said.

The participants of the briefing listened to data on the current situation in certain areas of the front and an assessment of possible further actions of the Russian troops. In particular, it was stated that the enemy is concentrating groups for offensive actions. It was also about the needs of the defense forces of Ukraine in military equipment and ammunition.

The issue of protecting Ukrainian critical infrastructure, which is still under fire from the enemy, was discussed separately. The importance of restoring transformers of various capacities and equipment of power plants, damaged in shelling, was emphasized. In addition, it was about countering hostile cyber attacks. The importance of the assistance provided to our country by the United States for recovering and protecting critical infrastructure was noted.

The briefing participants familiarized themselves with the current state and development of Ukraine's air defense capabilities.
