On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Minister for Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Wang Yi.

The parties welcomed the revitalization of political dialogue between Ukraine and China last year and discussed the potential for further contacts at the highest level.

The interlocutors reaffirmed their mutual respect for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and China as the basis of Ukraine-China relations.

During the meeting, they discussed the development of bilateral relations and trade, as China is one of the largest trade partners of Ukraine.

Andriy Yermak and Andrii Sybiha informed the Chinese Foreign Minister about the Russian drone attack on the Chornobyl NPP, which posed a risk of a nuclear incident. They emphasized the unacceptability of such risks to nuclear and radiation safety posed by the Russian Federation and thanked the Chinese side for its principled stance on this issue.

The Head of the Presidential Office and the Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke about Ukraine's vision of ways to achieve a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace. They noted that China is a global player whose role in achieving peace is extremely important.

Wang Yi emphasized that Ukraine should be a party to any possible peace talks and that Europe's participation is also important.
