On Independence Day of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the "Golden Star" orders to servicemen whom the title of Hero of Ukraine was conferred upon, as well as to members of the families of fallen Heroes. The Head of State also presented other state awards.

On Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska honored the memory of the defenders of our state fallen during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska put icon lamps near the cross at the place of death of the participants of the Revolution of Dignity and bowed, honoring the memory of those who died for freedom.

Six months ago, Russia declared war against us. On February 24, the entire Ukraine heard explosions and gunshots. And on August 24, it wasn’t supposed to hear the words "Happy Independence Day". On February 24, we were told: you have no chance. On August 24, we say: Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!
