First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, along with her team from the Olena Zelenska Foundation, visited the Åland Islands, an autonomous region of Finland. The First Lady met with Speaker of Parliament Jörgen Pettersson and members of the government.

During his virtual participation in the European Council meeting, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on partners to further increase support for Ukraine, invest in Ukrainian and domestic weapons production, maintain sanctions against Russia, and make efforts to unblock the negotiation process on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

It’s crucial that your support for Ukraine doesn’t decrease but instead continues and grows. And this is especially true for air defense, military aid, and our overall resilience.

In particular, the leaders will discuss steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, enhance air defense, supply F-16 aircraft, artillery systems and ammunition, and invest in Ukrainian weapons production.

During a visit to Finland, the First Lady of Ukraine and the team of the Olena Zelenska Foundation met with local business leaders, philanthropists, and representatives of the cultural and educational communities.

In Helsinki, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Finland Alexander Stubb visited Merihaka, the city’s largest civil protection shelter, built in 2003.

A meeting with the Register’s delegation was held under the chairmanship of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and with the participation of Deputy Head of the President’s Office Iryna Mudra, where they discussed the expansion of claims submission opportunities and further cooperation.

During her visit to Finland, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska met with Rector of the University of Helsinki Sari Lindblom and Vice President of Tampere University Jarmo Takala.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Finland Alexander Stubb met with students and faculty of the University of Helsinki and Tampere University.

The participants learned about the results of the current Dual Degree Program between higher education institutions of Ukraine and the United Kingdom, which is being implemented as part of the Twinning initiative under the auspices of the Fund of the President. The meeting participants also discussed proposals for key areas of educational and research programs for this year.
